A Sad Day

Do you ever have one of those days... where bad news just seems to be around every corner?

Today I found out that my boss, pastor, and friend - Penny's mom died. She's been sick for awhile and Penny was able to get to her mom on Monday... Then her mom passed away last night. Please send prayers of comfort and peace her way in this sad time.

I also found out today that another co-worker and friend, at my other church, is suffering from cancer of the spine and spinal fluid. She is loosing more and more feeling in her legs by the day, and is loosing mobility. She started radiation and chemo this week and gets more test results tomorrow that will determine if there will be further treatment. It sounds like this is a very fast progressing cancer... and the news will probably only get worse. She is someone who has had a very sad life, with not a lot of close loved ones... My heart goes out to her in this scary and sad time. Please send her prayers, also!

Ugh. Such sad times. Be sure to take a moment today and count your blessings!

Today I am thankful for:

1. Church members that surround those in pain with help, laughter, and love.
2. Bounce dryer sheets - static-be-Gone!
3. Cleansing tears.
4. Pets that comfort in times of sadness - Good job, Dixie!
5. A great tax refund - debt-be-Gone, too!
6. My back is completely healed - back to exercising!
7. Tomato, mozzerella, and argula paninis for dinner.
8. An evening home with the hubby.
9. Starting a new book - "Speaking of Faith"

10. A full tummy, and sleepy eyes.
