Laugh

"A well-developed sense of humor is the pole that adds a balance to your steps as you walk the tightrope of life."
--William Arthur Ward

"No matter what it does for us, we could all stand to fulfill our need to laugh more often.  Laughing oxygenates our bloodstream, fills us with endorphins, can even change our brain chemistry.  Laughter is solace, medicine, a tension diffuser.

"Perhaps, more importantly, a cultivated sense of humor is the most direct line I know to finding balance in your life.  It keeps your ego in check to laugh at yourself; it lifts your spirits to let yourself be tickled even on the darkest days.  Laughing with friends gives us the chance to deepen our relationships, and learn new things about each other.

"It's not easy navigating through the difficult moments in our lives, and there are scores of situations in which it would seem almost impossible to imagine yourself laughing.  But if you're open to the possibility of finding joy in adversity, delighting in absurdity, or just plain exchanging dumb punch lines, you'll find yourself and those around you are better off and more ready to meet the challenges you all face."
--Mina Parker, from her book "Less is More"

Super Bowl Sunday.  Which, when your team isn't playing, just means yummy food, comfy clothes, the couch, and funny commercials.  A good evening.  We decided to root for New Orleans - simply because they were the underdogs and we think New Orleans could use some good vibes.  So their win made the evening even more fun!

Our food menu started with Pioneer Woman's Guacamole with Pico de Gallo - YUM.  Fresh and delicious.  Then we moved onto PW's Beef Drip Sandwiches - DOUBLE YUM.  (We will be eating these for a week with all the leftovers we have... and I don't mind a bit.)  And long after the game was over, we finished with a light dessert of Nilla wafers, vanilla pudding, and banana slices.  So good.  Gotta love a good food day.
So speaking of laughs...  What commericials did you like this year?  The Doritos commercials (the slap and the dog collar) got the most laugh-out-loud reactions from us....  But overall, not the best commercials this year...  Oh.  And the careerbuilder.com commerical where casual Fridays meant wearing your underwear to work.  It grossed me out so much I couldn't stop giggling.

So even if you didn't watch the game and commercials - what made you laugh out loud today?

Things I am thankful for today:

1.  Steel Cut Oats for breakfast!
2.  Matt telling me all about "Puppy Bowl."
3.  My hubby serving me communion.  Very cool.
4.  Giggling with the little girls at church about chocolate donuts.  So funny.
5.  Yummy food all day long!
6.  The dog watching "Puppy Bowl" - head tilts, intense stares, and eyes following the whole time!
7.  Enjoying a night cuddled up with the hubby in our sweats, watching tv.
8.  New Orleans won!  Woo-hoo!
9.  It's snowing... and supposed to keep snowing...
10.  My roses are looking beautiful!
