30 Days of Photos: 6

Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day.
I've honestly been thinking about this question for 24 hours, and can't think of anyone I'd want to trade places with for a day.  Is that weird?  There's lots of things I'd like to do for a day...  But not as part of someone else's life.

Last year, my book club read the book, "The Faith Club" - and one of the stories in the book is of one woman's father talking about choosing our "paper bags."  He had a rough life, but he knew his life and accepted the "bag" he was given.  Basically, he knew what to expect and how to make the most of it.  He said if he was shown a pile of "paper bags" and could choose any one of them - he would always choose the one he already had.  Who knew what kind of problems came in the others?

That story stuck with me.  When I envy somebody else or think I'd like somebody else's life, it doesn't take long before I realize that I have no idea what problems they deal with or what sadnesses they bear...  And while I've had my share of ups and downs, I would choose my journey any day.

Maybe I thought too much about this question...  I should have just said "Julia Roberts."  Ha!

Things I am thankful for today:

1.  The hubby arrived home safe and sound last night.
2.  Getting plenty of sleep.
3.  I think my dog is trying to take care of me this weekend - super cute!
4.  Seeing a bald eagle yesterday!
5.  Finally seeing the movie "Amelie."
6.  Fresh laundry.
7.  Ghiradelli chocolates.
8.  Funny text messages.
9.  Our "magic couch."
10.  Orange juice.

And today is Day 5 of the 29 Day Giving Challenge!  This morning the hubby was trying to get on the road to go to a birthday event.  He was wrapping a birthday gift (which he hates doing) and the dog was repeatedly dropping her ball in the middle of the gift, trying to get him to play.  I ended up finishing the gift wrapping so he could play with the dog for a while before he left.  It was a gift for both him and the dog!
